A LENS, NOT A LAW ABOUT YOU

A principle should open a possibility—not close the case.

WORD & WILL begins with ideas drawn from Florence Scovel Shinn: watch the words you repeat, notice what you expect, do not make fear a prophecy, release useless resistance, and stay open to useful direction. The Mirror uses those ideas to ask better questions—not to declare what your life means.

THE PRINCIPLE

A lens helps you notice something.

Expectancy may reveal that you keep announcing failure before an event. Power of the Word may reveal a fixed identity you repeat. Nonresistance may reveal how much energy is being spent rehearsing the thing you hate.

YOUR JUDGMENT

You decide whether the lens fits.

The Mirror can be wrong. You can say not quite, that is not what I meant, do not remember this, or show me more. A principle never outranks your explicit knowledge of your own life.

YOUR EVIDENCE

Over time, reality gets a seat at the table.

WORD & WILL can remember predictions, Corrections, Moves, and outcomes. That means a principle does not have to float above your life as an idea. You can see what actually happened and decide what deserves to remain useful.

A Mirror moment

My Will: I want to build a business that supports me.

My Word: Realistically, this is probably going to fail.

The Mirror: Expectancy is one useful lens here: you are rehearsing failure before you have enough evidence to call it the outcome.

A Correction: I can take the next grounded step without pretending I already know the ending.
